Tablet Screen Cracked
Posted by Blake Shannon on August 20, 2007 in Uncategorized. Comment
So today I was working on my tablet downstairs, but decided I needed a keyboard. So I was walking up the stairs when suddenly I slipped and fell with my tablet hitting the ground first. When I picked it up some pieces of glass fell of the screen. The screen was all cracked and what not. So now I’m left righting this on my ibook. I’m thinking I should just buy a Macbook Pro instead of paying 800+ to repair the tablet. I think i’ll go back to crying in the corner now.

Bourne Ultimatum Was Awesome!

This was by far the best movie I have seen this Summer! Absolutely loved it!
Two things that bugged me though were:
- Audio was in and our at some points.
- Just like the 2nd movie a lot of hand held cameras were used which was jittery at times.

Skype Global Outage

As you all have probably already heard skype has experienced a golbal outage over tha past few days. The sucks for buisnesses who use skype to comunicate.
Press report
“Hello all,
Here’s the latest on the sign-on problem. We’re on the road to recovery. Skype is stabilizing, but this process may continue throughout the day. An encouraging number of users can now use Skype once again. We know we’re not out of the woods yet, but we are in better shape now than we were yesterday.
Finally, we’d like to dispel a couple of theories that we are still hearing. Neither Wednesday’s planned maintenance of our web-based payment services nor any form of attack was related to the current sign-on issues in any way.
We’ll update you again as soon as we can. Thanks for hanging tight.
Please see our Heartbeat blog for ongoing updates.”

Blackberry 8830 World Edition Review
Posted by Blake Shannon on August 14, 2007 in Uncategorized. Comment

The Blackberry 8830 is simply a wonderful device to use.

This is the latest Blackberry released. The device always gets great signal strength. This is because the device has 2 antennas. One antenna operates on the CDMA band, (What most cellphones in the US use) and GSM band. (What Europe and parts of Asia use.) This phone allows you to use it on a GSM band abroad and a CDMA band in the USA. That is why its called the World Edition. My favorite use for the phone is tethering it. Tethering is where you connect the phone to a computer via USB cable and use the phones EVDO connection as your own. This is often what I do in the car, or when a WiFi hot spot isn’t available. The email experience is wonderful on the 8830. The 8830 quickly sends and receives e-mail, and the QWERTY keyboard is great for typing. The web browsing experience is okay with the Blackberry Browser, (its not the speed that bugs me its the browser itself) but I would recommend down loading Opera Mini. RIM has also added media functions to this Blackberry. The 8830 can easily handle videos, audio. and photos. (Although while connected to a bluetooth head set audio files take a while to load.) If you are a media junkie I would recommend expanding the 64mb of internal memory with a mini SD card that slides in right above the battery. Unlike older blackberry models the 8830 follows the Blackberry Peal as the 2nd Blackberry to have a trackball.

- Great e-mail experience
- Awesome connectivity
- Thinner that previous Blackberry
- Great battery life

- Gets a little hot after prolonged use
- Somewhat sluggish when used for a while
- Verizon support is so-so
- If not using a Blackberry Enterprise Server e-mail can be tricky to set up.

Verizon Blackberry Left and Sprint Blackberry Right

Hopefully you will find this usefull

I woke up with horrible shin splints, then I started throwing up. Then I skyped dirk/Esherido(<— the worst part of my day .) Then I threw up some more. Then I went to some coffee Shop, then I vent home. and my Xbox got a brain freeze and stopped working. And now my WiFi extender Stopped working. -Goodbye

Today I found out I had left my new bluetooth headset in my pocket yesterday. To make matters worse those pants went through the washing machine, now that headset is dead. RIP
